I finished my class last night and I’m going through communication withdrawal. No need to continuously check email. Nothing to respond to. No one needs me. Except for my kids who I’ve been very successful at ignoring over the past 8 months. I have a whole lot to read and grade – which I should be doing, but I’d rather keep checking my email.
Congratulations to my students! They’ve worked so hard. While others doubt education in America, I have faith because these folks are passionate about teaching and love kids. It would be a privilege if my kid could be could be taught by any one of them.
But until then, I will try to wean myself off my email addiction and reconnect with my life. And address the fact that I’ve been tagged.

The drop out rate for high school students in NYC is 50%. I’ll say it again, 50%. We need good teachers here . . .
