I covered some of the main ground you would expect from a trip to D.C. last week, but then are the things that were of particular interest to me that you will not see on a postcard stand. First, there was a lot of Borf. I’ve taken an interest in graffiti since moving here, and in D.C., Borf was big. I even ended up joining a Flickr Borf Pool (that kind of sounds funny). My Flickr name is injay. Here is some of my Borf -
Next, I was happy to see a weathered sign promoting the monthly Critical Mass ride.
And it was nice to see the Secret Service rocking bikes around the White House -
But if they are the secret service, isn’t writing it on the bike kind of counterproductive to being secretive?
This restaurant bench caught my eye for an obvious reason. Yes, we ate there.
We also ran into my fashion hero. This guy makes me look like a poser.
And perhaps the most interesting thing was the following site at every crosswalk:
Yes, cross walk signals with count down timers. This would never fly in NYC. Pedestrians here don’t even look at signals for the most part and if the city installed signals like these, I’m sure people would laugh out loud.
